What
are Eating Disorders? What is normal
eating? How can we support our clients? In
this workshop we will find out more about our own and our clients eating
patterns/behaviours and to be able use
this knowledge with our clients. Never
have we been more aware of what we eat- yet never have we been fatter!
Confronting this paradox is the aim of this training. How
and why we eat is affected by many factors. We
will look at underlying emotional problems, physiological symptoms and chaotic
eating patterns which disrupt the body’s chemicals and produce food
cravings. We
learn how to use diaries and foster awareness in order to build a true picture
of a client’s eating habits, self esteem and lifestyles. We
identify fixed behaviour patterns or rituals. How
do we affect a change in a client with an eating disorder? By the end of the training you will be able
to identify behaviours in the management
of cravings and weight; and support a person in a more healthy
lifestyle. “It
is unlikely for therapy to succeed without some dietary
management.”

Women Mean Business – Making the choice to be your own boss—Saturday 20th February 2010
I would thoroughly recommend this seminar to all women who have their own business, or are thinking of taking that step. The concepts and the presentation make this seminar one that is applicable to all sectors, not just counselling. The material and information provided are a valuable asset to building and increasing one’s ability to move ahead in the corporate world. Thanks so much for helping me build a strong, successful business. Jessica Anglin d’Christian Transcencia Counselling & Psychotherapy Services
The “Women Mean Business” workshop has given me a different view around the aspects of Women running their own Business and how I can take practical steps to gain a better balance in both my professional and personal life. We looked at the ethos of Counselling as a caring profession and how to combine this with the expected image of a Successful Business Woman, enabling me to focus on blocks and explore them in a safe space. It was a good opportunity to meet other therapists who are working towards similar goals, supporting each other and sharing ideas. Sandra provided a caring and safe environment in which to work, also a wonderful lunch not to be missed. Thank you for a great day. Valerie Ann Kitchener
Counselling and therapeutic interventions for working with young people and adults overcoming experiences of childhood sexual abuse—Saturday 6th March 2010
I found today has given me a greater depth of understanding and awareness and a desire to do further training in this area of counselling. Emma Pipe
An excellent presentation, inspiring me to learn more, while acknowledging my own knowledge and experience thus far. Mike Berry
An exhilarating and beneficial experience that was excellent value for money. Ed Ramsay
