Is Medicare able to fund both inpatient and outpatient counseling services?As long as you are admitted to the hospital, whether it is a general acute care facility or a psychiatric facility, Medicare will generally pay up to 80 percent of the allowable charges for counseling services provided by a credentialed health professional who is a participant in the Medicare program, regardless of where you are admitted.
