The Utah State Board of Education requires prospective school counselors to earn a master’s degree in school counseling and to apply for an educator license with a school counseling focus before beginning their careers. It is possible to get license at three different levels, which must be completed in sequence, however Level 3 licensure is not compulsory.

The completion of a master’s or doctorate degree in clinical mental health counseling or counselor education and supervision from a program accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs is required for licensure as a mental health counselor in Utah.
In Utah, this is not the case. The CSW must be a W-2 employee in order to receive supervision; he or she may not operate as an independent contractor in this capacity.
In order to become a professional counselor, you must complete three to five years of instruction at the diploma or degree level. A minimum amount of client hours earned during a work placement is required to be qualified for the position. The program begins with an introduction to the field of counseling and psychotherapy.
After finishing your 12th grade in any topic, you can pursue an undergraduate degree in that field. In order to work as a counselor in India, you must first have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field.
The Master of Arts (M.A.) and the Master of Science (M.S.) are the two most popular forms of psychology master’s degrees, respectively (M.S.). An M.A. degree may imply a higher liberal arts emphasis, but an M.S. degree is typically indicative of a larger focus on research and the sciences.

The candidate must hold a graduate-level degree (master’s level or higher) in a discipline linked to mental health in order to be considered. The degree must be from an accredited educational institution (as defined and decided by DMH) and must be comprised of at least 30 semester hours or its equivalent in order to be considered valid for admission.
In order to earn a graduate degree and get counseling license in Mississippi, candidates must complete at least 600 hours of supervised, planned, practice, and advanced experience. These hours may be included in the total number of supervision hours done after receiving a degree.
