Richmond Park is an interesting one, going all the way from Zone 3 in the north and east, to Zone 4 in the west and Zone 6 in the south.
Richmond station is a National Rail and London Underground station managed by South West Trains. It is on the South West Trains Waterloo to Reading line, the London Underground District line and also the London Overground North London Line.

Take the train to the Richmond – Main Street Station (RVM) if you want to be in the heart of the city, or to the Richmond – Staples Mill Road Station (RVR), where you’re just a cab ride away.

Transport for London (TfL) today announced the locations of 30 new shops and newsagents where people can now buy and top-up Oyster across Richmond upon Thames.
Richmond upon Thames is one of the most affluent areas in London. It is the most expensive borough among London outskirt boroughs, and has a similar housing price to Islington.
Richmond has seven platforms, 1 and 2 are used for mainline South West Trains services, 3 and 4 are mainly for London Overground services and 5, 6 and 7 for London Underground trains. Step – free access to all platforms is via staff-operated lifts. Toilets are located on the lower concourse.
Many of the toilets are free of charge, but you’d better hope your wallet isn’t empty if you want to spend a penny in any of the station toilets mapped with an asterisk — those will charge up to 50p for your patronage. If you’re travelling on the northern end of the Jubilee line, urine luck (sorry).
There are ladies and gents toilets off the passage between the Street Level Concourse and the car park. As you approach the exit, turn left into the recess, the ladies toilets are to your right, whilst the gents are to your left.
Tickets cost $17 – $25 and the journey takes 2h 20m. Two other operators also service this route. Alternatively, Amtrak Northeast Regional operates a train from Richmond Main Street Amtrak Station to Washington Union Station twice daily. Tickets cost $45 – $90 and the journey takes 2h 54m.
Is there a direct train between DC and Richmond ? Yes, there is a direct train that goes from Washington, DC, to Richmond , Virginia . In fact, Amtrak offers at least 10 daily direct trips between the two cities. Amtrak has two stations in Richmond where you may be dropped off.
